Two Weddings To The Same Man?

So, I've graduated from high school and
my first job was a clerk typist on the job
training. I had met a girl that worked in the same
office. Vickie and I became pretty close, but she
wanted to get out more as she lived at home (as I did)
and her mother had married and between her mother
and step-father they had 13 children. Vickie
found herself doing a lot of the work and watching
the kids. She often spent the night or weekends
at my house. She had her own car so we spent
a lot of time cruising. Vickie was a silly girl
and one I won't forget ever. She wore contacts, but
if she took them off and put her glasses
on even she would giggle. Her earnings weren't
kept in a bank, but in a tin coffee can in the
glove compartment of her car. Well as usual, this
story of my marriage was amazing yet again. Vickie
liked two boys, Bill and Mike, and I was dating
Robert. Finally someone other than Scott. What
a refreshing relief, but yet another one with lots
of girls. Vickie one evening discovered she promised
two boys a date to the movie. We sat in the
back row Vickie between her two boys and me between
Mike and Robert. Vickie informed me that she
liked Robert, well as you have it I liked Mike, but
I didn't know him only that I sat by him in her car
when we went riding around town. Well as you have
probably figured.....I ended up with Mike.

Well it was a rough start. Mike had the hottest and fastest
car in town. A 1970 Buick Skylark, 455 engine,
dual exhausts, tachometer, bright yellow with
black racing stripes. He finally got it on the road
and Vickie was backing up not looking and backed
right into his car breaking the light. You would
have thought the world was ending. Vickie was
squeeling. Not to worry, Mike was a mechanic so
she paid for the light and he repaired it. I was so
afraid to even touch the car. He came to the house,
but my father had other ideas. Mike had come into
some trouble with the law before I met him in
June 1977. My father was always protective of
me and checked up on a lot of boys I liked. He forbid
me to see him even though I was 18 at the time
but as most parents say, if you live under my roof
you live by my rules. Well it did too. But after
a bit of persuasion, my father gave in and I was
allowed to date Mike. On Valentine's Day 1978, we made
a trip to the mall and ordered an engagement
ring. February 21, 1978 we were engaged.

These were a few of our engagement pictures. We started
planning a September 16, 1978 wedding. 300 guests.
My wedding gown was designed by me, the lace
dyed by myself and my grandmother made it for me.
My wedding veil belonged to my future sister-in-law's
sister. It was a grand affair.

This picture is of us with both our parents. His parents
on the right and mine on the left. A few years
later my brother graduated high school and a bit after
that married Dorothy. This picture is of us in
their wedding.

Well in June 1992 we divorced and I moved not far
from Mike so he would have access to the shared car
we had and the children. After much
discussion and plans we decided to remarry.
So we remarried April 24, 1993.

My brother stood up for us once again as we tried again.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, who is that little hand on daddy's trying
to cut that cake. Kaleena??????

Both of our children with us as we attempt the cake.

Well.....I wish I could say things worked out for us even
after the second time, but I can't. In January 1998, I started
realizing that things weren't changing
as they were meant to and after another 6 years waiting
that it was time for me to do something. I
couldn't live another 20 years. I sat down and talked
to my children. In June 1998, I met a man online in Yahoo
chat. I'd never recommend it because you have
to do checking before anything can become of anything
as I did. My son decided at age 13 to remain
with his father as he wanted to stay for his baseball
and hunting. My daughter wanted to leave with
me. Believe me I wasn't looking for anyone on the
computer. This man turned out to be in England and
I swore I was safe and nothing could happen. NEVER
SAY NEVER!!!!! November 12, 1998, I boarded a plane
for London, England to visit with his family
and to see his life. I wasn't expecting to move
there and if I did not until March the following
year. The thing is...what did I have???? I
was working for a Physical Therapy clinic then and
knew they were going to go out of business in our
area shortly and my job would end (and they did the
following January). I decided December 12, 1998 I would move
to England. My daughter came with me.
(Now you will have to wait until the next chapter to see
what happens).
Meet my husband Dave and learn about his interesting
life on his website (next on the list)
