POEM
- THE EAGLE
"THE
EAGLE"
(BY ROBIN - NEW YORK)
The Eagle's tears fell everyday
as he flew over what was left of the
World Trade Center.
***
Firemen, police and all of
the workers will tell you they felt his tears
as they fell upon their faces.
***
Not a day went by in those
eight long months, did the Eagle not fly over and cry.
***
As the last piece of the
World Trade Center was taken away, the Eagle flew
above the truck, following
it all the way.
***
As it passed by the families
that had lost loved ones, the Eagle's screech
was loud and clear for all
to hear.
***
Everyone says it sounded
like "WHY?"
***
The Eagle never made a sound
again as it followed the truck out of sight.
