Ode to Mr. Jangles
When I was with the band Garment, I wrote this song. In my hometown, Crestview, we had a guy that would sit by the theater. Everytime someone would honk his horn, he would get up and dance. We all fondly called him Mr. Jangles.
A few years ago, Mr. Jangles' house caught on fire while he was asleep. He died that nite and is still missed by the citizens of Crestview.
As you will prolly notice, I actually wrote this song/poem about me and how I wish I could get back with God as close as I was when Mr. Jangles was alive.

***
The more things change
The more they stay the same
But I wish I could go back
To when everything seemed tame
When things had a plan
And there was nothing left to chance
Now, go ahead and honk your horn
But you won't see Jangles dance
Time is and enemy
Time is a friend
Time is so short
But time will never end
Sometimes I feel
Like I need something more
Cause Mr Jangles
Is not here anymore
I know that
This may sound a little strange
But the more things stay the same
The more they change

Cause nothing's the same anymore
And I want to go back
To when my face was on the floor
And I cried out to You
And You answered me
Please, please, God
Let it be
