Sanford Burial Ground

Sanford Burial Ground is a small plot of land along Sport Hill Road in Redding, Connecticut, past Lyon Cemetery, if you are heading north. This is the Sanford family plot; there is no sign identifying the property. Approximately 46 burials date from the 1820s through 1940. The burial ground is located on a narrow, winding road, just over a hill with no available space for parking. For this reason I did not linger and enter the cemetery. I have two close-up photos of the burial ground (below) and a shot from across the street (above), but I did not take any photos of individual stones.
Estimated number of interments, as of January 2024: at least 44.
