Kathy has been in the music biz for quite some time now. She started teaching guitar at Schmitt Music immediately after high school. She had to quit teaching when her band No Man's Land's tour schedule became very demanding. With No Man's Land Kathy played all over the U.S and some of Canada. She even received an endorsement from Washburn guitars. After touring for a few years she tore a ligament in her wrist and couldn't play guitar at all for a few years. That's when she took time off for college and began drumming. Kathy had played snare drum when she was younger but this time she was serious. Her limitations only served her in that she had to become more innovative. Double bass drumming was something she started off imediately as a way to compensate for her left hand. As her wrist condition slowly improved she began to teach guitar again. For several years now she has been teaching guitar and drums in the Elk River area to many people with a variety of interests and to all ages. Kathy also performs as a drummer in the band Mantra Truck.
