Travis has been playing guitar for 22 years and has been teaching full time for 13years. He has studied classical guitar at MacPhail's Center for the Arts for four years and for four years at St. John's University. Currently he's playing with the rock band Sector 7 along with Backbeat's very own Max Kirkeide but he has played in numerous rock and heavy metal bands over the years. The Cross of Life worship band is another of his musical outlet for him where he plays contemporary Christian and worship music. When he isn't teaching he enjoys driving dirt track race cars and spending time with his wife Joy and their dog and cat.
