Battle Ground

The Story: Back in the 1800's there was a terrible battle fought on the grounds where the memorial is. If you are anywhere close to the creek right after dark, then you hear battle cries and see human forms running through to woods. You also can never fall asleep out there no matter how tired you are.

Location: Battle Ground, Indiana 15 min outside Lafayette on N 9th street

We went to the battlefield memorial on August 8th 2005 at 3:30 AM.  We walked down the trail to the creek like your site says to to we stood by the creek for about 10 min we heard a really loud strange pi squeal very close to our left.  Then we stood for a little bit longer and as I looked left there was a strange apparition of a human it appeared to be of an Indian soldier or something like that wearing a vest and leggings with long black hair.  It vanished seconds later soon after that my friends looked left to see if it was there again. We heard a very hollow cry in the woods similar to someone dying or what I imagine that would sound like.  We didn't stick around after that the fog was thick and we didn't feel like we needed to be there any longer.  So apparently the myth about the creek in the battlefield is true.  Its definitely worth checking out if you're out there at night. WARNING: THE BATTLEFIELD CLOSES AT DUSK AND IS PATROLLED ON SOME NIGHTS BY THE LOCAL POLICE. BE CAREFUL IF YOU ENTER AT NIGHT AS THE LOCAL POLICE CONSIDER EVERYONE A VANDAL.
