Graphic Design
For the past few years I have been into computers, especially computer games. So I started thinking that what better way to spend the majority of my life than to help construct one of the things that I enjoy the most. I have been into computer games for about 8 years and am very good at them. About two or three years ago I decided what my career would be realistically speaking instead of a professional baseball player or actor or whatever kids normally want to be. I started to aquire information on Graphic Design artists and what they do. I found a lot of information that interested me further. Though I am not crazy about typing, I think that graphic design is right for me.
Most graphic design companies pay about $20,000 for the equipment used to make each game. Many of the companies produce multiple games at a time also which means even more money they have to spend. The graphic design group provide the artistic part of a video game. They have to be very creative in order to create creatures or people from their mind. They also must design the entire visual part of the video game rather than just people or creatures. Each company tries to get the best equipment available to try and ensure the success of the game because normally the better the graphics are, the better the game sells. The game itself has to be good too in order for the game to really sell.
Because computers are getting so popular and technology is growing so fast, graphic design is a very popular and competitive field. Graphic design artists can be very expensive if they are very good. Depending on what they are working on, movies or games, they can get paid normally anywhere above $60,000 a year. They also get bonuses if their game sells a lot of copies.
Though I am interested mainly in graphic design for computer games, I think it would be fun to design graphics for a good movie. Now, more than ever, graphics are making movies, and in some cases, creating the whole movie. In future years, we may not even need to have actors because we will be able to do everything with the help of a computer.
