I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live. Psalm116:1-2

Hello, dear friends, and welcome to my homepage. I hope you will find it interesting and perhaps help you come to a deeper, more personal relationship with God.

My Personal Testimony

I was raised in a Christian home. My Mother was all that a young child could want or hope for. I was raised in the church and believed in God and Jesus. But, I never gave my own personal relationship with God much thought. I lived my life trying to make things work MY way, I tried to fix problems by my own strength, I could've cared less about His plan for me. But, that all changed when I came to the end of my endurance. Nothing seemed right, I was so very tired of life and the cards being dealt, I was literally at the weakest point I had ever been in my life.

It was at this point that God spoke to me. I was not at a church, nor was I with Christian friends, He met me where I was! Right there in my living room. My spirit was calling out for what I didn't know but God did. He said "Come to me and I will lift your burden. Come to me and I will give you peace. Come child I await, I alone know your heart and what you hunger for." Well, I can tell you that I did not hesitate, He was speaking to me in a soft voice which was pure joy to my ears, I humbly asked Him then to forgive me of my sins, to free me of my pain,to have His will be done in my life, I thanked Him for loving me enough to send His only Son, I praised Him for that wonderful gift I had so long ignored.

Well, friends I can tell you that I have NEVER known peace such as I felt that morning. Did all my problems go away? Well, no, but I had the strength of the Lord with me. His promise to never forsake me. His deep, abiding love that no one or anything could take away. It is this love that I want to share with you. It is available to anyone who ask....won't you listen to His voice...He is waiting for you.

God vs. Religion

When I first became born again I was attacked from every side it seemed by satan ( I personally do NOT capitalize that name). I was tempted by everything I wished to give up. "Friends" were trying to tell me that my salvation was not at hand because I did not follow their "doctrine". This is why I wish to discuss God vs. Religion. Now I know many may find that very phrase offensive or perhaps it doesn't make sense. You might say isn't God religion? Well, there are MANY relgions but only one God. Only one way to reach the Father and have everlasting life. read John 3:16

I was so very joyful in my new birth I was onfire for the Lord! But, satan is a wiley old cuss and he used those close to me to try and rob me. The more I resisted the harder he tried. The stronger I became the more ruthless he attacked. He did not understand that I had a personal relationship with my Savior one he could not break for it was promised to me long ago. readJohn 10:27-29

And so this is why I use this example of God vs. religion. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, I use the Bible as my guide, I am following the Master's voice. I have given ALL to Him. He did NOT say "love thy baptist,pentecostal,methodist,etc... neighbor" rather He said " Love your neighbor as yourself." If we all could remember this basic fact I believe that the Church (the body of Christ) would be much more effective .

Enough of that I truly do not mean to offend anyone it is just that I want to be clear on this one point: It is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that matters, not what "religion" one might belong to. read 1 John 2:9-10

The Plan

It seems to me that folks get so caught up in how to live a Godly life. Yes, we all should be concerned with this, we should all endeavor to lead a Christlike existence. I personally believe that once you make the committment to follow Jesus and His teachings you have started on the road of living a Godly life. He did not say it would be easy but, He did say " I will be with you,always..." This does not mean we will never sin again, this does not mean we will never face trials, this does not mean our lives will be perfect. What it means is that we have a way to be reconciled to our Lord. We have guidelines that teach and hold us accountable for our actions. We have a Savior who is more powerful than anything this world has ever known. read John 16:33 He is available to anyone who honestly seeks Him.

The Rewards

You might be asking why should I accept Jesus as my Savior? I don't even believe in Him....what has He done for me....I don't need a Savior...etc.. Well, friends I can answer you by asking a few questions of my own. Why do you NOT believe.....have you ever actively seeked God's will in your life....we all need to be saved from our sinful life. Just because you don't believe does not mean He doesn't exist. If you think He has not been working in your life I ask you to rethink this...look back in your life and judge the circumstances you believed were coincidence or miracles...perhaps a job you badly needed, a sick child healed, a gift of friendship in time of need. We have all sinned and by continuing in our sins we are headed for certain death from which there is no escape.

But the great and glorious fact remains God has given us a way to have eternal life. He sent Jesus Christ, His only Son, so that we could be reconciled to Him. read 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 It is God's desire that we belong to Him. It is His greatest hope that we lean on Him, that we actively serve Him and His principles, that we LOVE Him as He loves us. Oh, Praise His Holy Name! What a humbling experience it is to understand that God loves us so much that He sacrificed His only Son, in order that we could be with Him forever.

Now I want to ask what have you lost by believing in Jesus Christ? Nothing, you will gain every good thing by trusting Him as your Savior. You will have a Savior who hears your prayers, you will have a Savior who gives you peace and contentment, a Savior who will fight your enemies for you, a Savior who will take you to live with Him forever and ever! But what do you gain by not trusting Him? Nothing. By not trusting Him you are living a life not protected by His grace, you have no way to escape death and destruction, you have no real peace, you have no one to fight for you or lean on in times of trouble, in short, you have nothing but yourself, and man is an imperfect creature at best.

So, my dear friends, I challenge you to take the bold step of accepting Jesus as your Savior. If you have already done this I challenge you to become a living testimony for Him. " We should not be reciting learned words, but witnesses of revealed things" (quoted from Jesse Duplantis' Covenant magazine, April 1998). I read that and it just blessed me so much! YES! YES! Let us not rely only on what we read or have been taught, let us testify to the glory of God by telling everyone what He has done for us, shown us, and gave us!
