Will of Henry Battle


My Written Will

I Henry Battle do make this as my last Will and Testament_hereby revoking and making void all other Wills by me at any time made.

First_ I give my spirit to God who gave it and my body to the earth from whince I came.

Secondly_ I direct that my funeral expenses and all debts be paid as soon after my death as possible, out of any money that I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of my Executor.

Thirdly_ I desire for my wife Ella Battle to have twenty-five acres of my land on the East side of my track of land her lifetime, and at her death my son John A. Battle to have fifteen acres of her part and the other ten acres to be sold to pay expenses. I want my wife Ellen to have one good work horse and two beds and bedstands and clothing, balance of the house furniture except what belongs to the children.

Fourthly_ I desire that my son Felix P. Battle and Thomas F. Battle have the balance of my eight acres at my death and that they pay Paralina P. ten dollars to her part of my estate and hers in the house, and Martha A. Janes ten also and Paralee T. Vickers ten dollars also to her by Felix and Thomas out of the land.

This is my last Will and Testament to others.

I do hereby appoint S.H.Russell my executor, above all others in witness whereof my will set in hand and seal this the 19 January 1882.
