14) Richard KEMPE, secretary and acting governor of Virginia married Elizabeth Wormeley(who married secondly Sir Thomas Lunsford of VA., royalist army officer.), niece of Ralph Wormeley, second husband of (Lady) Agatha Eltonhead (Kellaway) Wormeley (Chichele) of VA. Of Richard KEMPE's brothers Edmund and Edward KEMPE, and possibly John KEMPE, also came to Virginia; the secretary mentioned a nephew Edmund KEMPE in his will, and Matthew KEMPE of Gloucester Co., VA., may have been a nephew as well.
