Chapter Eight

"Megan, this really isn't a good neighbor hood. Can we please leave?" Zac impatiently asked Megan, over and over.

"Oh, come on! I want to explore! Besides, why is it so bad?"

"It just is! There are gangs, and crack heads and stuff! Please, come on." Zac whined.

"Ok Ok!" Megan said as she turned around to leave.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

"Ahhh!" Megan screamed, as she fell to the ground. She tightly grabbed a hold of Zac's leg, and brought him down with her.

"Help Me! Help!" Zac hollared, but nobody came. That was the only thing Zac could do. Oh My god! Megan just got shot in a drive by! Zac thought. What am I going to do?

Zac tried to get up, but his leg had a sharp, acute pain. He then relized, that when he fell to the ground with Megan, it broke his leg. His bone had broken the skin, and the bone was ripping dreadfully out of his flesh. There was blood all over from him, and Megan's gun shot blood.

"After about 10 minutes of contious shouts someone finnaly heard Zac calling. They immeaditly called an ambulance.

"Finanly your here! My friend got shot, and I think I broke my leg!" Zac said, in tears.

"We have two down, one on strectcher, one carried. Bullet through chest. Immeadate care." A medical guy said.

"Whats going to happen to her? Will she be OK?" Zac panicted.

"Please calm down. We will take care of her." A doctor said ashe carried Zac to a seperate ambulance. "Call your mom on my cell, OK?"

"Mom," Zac said as Diana picked up the phone. "Me and Megan were rollerblading, and she got shot in a drive by! Mom, help. I don't want her to die."

"Honey, where are you?" Diana asked, turning pale. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"I am in an ambulance. I broke my leg! Please, help me!" He cried out into the phone.

"Ok, does Megan's parents know?" She calmly asked.

"No! Tell them and come! Please."

"Ok, where are you going?"

"Tulsa ER"

"Ok, honey. Mommy's comming."

And with that, Zac hung up, as they pulled into the ER Ambulance Station.

Its turned out that Zac had broken his leg. He had a huge casy put on his left leg. Once his cast was on, he went as fast as he could, considering he had crutched, to the ER, where Megan was.

"Is she OK?" Zac asked?

"No, honey. She will be in the hospital for a while. She was hurt pretty bad. We'll just have to wait to see how it turns out." Diana said.

"Son, can you tell me what the car, or the people looked like?" A police-man asked Zac.

"Yeah, I suppose." Zac said, as the police lead him to a chair so he could ask some questions.

"I can't believe this happened! Why her? She didn't do anything wrong." Cheryl kept saying. "Why?"

"It'll be Ok. She'll make it out Ok." Jim, Megan's dad, said, in a hopeful voice.
