What I do

Size is approximately 4 feet by 2 1/2 feet. This is a mirror that I have made recently. I broke a cheap Walmart dorm room mirror (hehe that was fun) into several pieces. I then took each piece and wrapped it in a low fire (oven fire) clay to shield the edges. The back board is 1/4 inch particle board that I cut with a jigsaw and spray painted. Each piece of mirror is attached at different angles (which is hard to tell by the picture) by steel wire. I also used glass paint on the pieces to add a bit more color (this is also hard to tell by the pic.)

Size is approximately 2 feet by 1 1/2 feet (and dang heavy.) This is a piece that I made in my ceramics class last semester. This piece helped get me my summer position as art director at a camp and my current endeavor of creating two more sculptors. It is based off of a famous Picasso painting. In the assignment we had to alter a painting to tell a story about the artist's life. Picasso fell in love with his wife because she was a singer. After his marriage he quit all positions he had previously held pertaining to music (ie. creating sets for musicals.) A popular theory is that he did not want to fall out of love with his wife or in love with another woman. The original painting was three men (the center one had a beard.) My version has two women and one male. Picasso had made two variation of this painting but the monk was static in both pieces, so I attempted to keep the monk as close to the original as possible. The original piece also appeared to have hidden letters in it so I hid the word LUST across this piece.

Here is the original.

Whenever I get around to taking pictures of some of my other shtuff I'll update :)

This is a painting I have done. This picture makes it look really small but my camera doesn't take very good pictures of paintings for some reason. I had to shrink the picture to reduce the dotted look that the camera created.

This is another painting I have done. I have always loved faces since I was a child and my recent reattachment to them was stemmed by my mother. She told me that my unusual drawings of faces had always made her smile and amidst all my other work they were still her favorite.

This is another mirror similar to the top item. This one was a request for a friend who has a yellow room.

My constant quest to live outside of the box! It annoys me that everything in this world takes on strict geometric shapes instead of more organic forms. So I created this collection of picture frames to suit my own style.

This thing is HUGE!! It is really hard to tell from the size of the picture but I made it a lil large,,, oops. It is 48 inches by 36 inches.
