Falling Incidents
My two hammies, Calvin & Hobbes, are really funny. I have one of thosetunnels that hamster can go up and then down the other side. Calvin andHobbes used to go up the tunnel, but when they saw that they had to godown the other side of the tunnel, they would get scared and start goingbackwards down the side of the tunnel that they came up from. One day, both Calvin And Hobbes went up the tunnel at once, and when Hobbesstopped and looked down, he was about to go back when Calvin, who wasbehind him just pushed Hobbes down and then Calvin went backwards downthe way they always did. At the end of the tunnel Hobbes fell out andwas so surprised that he just sat in his bedding and looked aroundstupidly.

I had just gotten a new hamster named Sandy. I had also just gotten a SAMcage for her to live in. She was very little and she didn't understand justwhat to do with all the tubes. When she finally got the idea, she lovedthem. She would even sleep at the junction of two of them, one going up,the other going down. When I was watching her one day, she was asleep inthese tubes. Suddenly, I heard a THUMP. Sandy had fallen down from thetubes. But that didn't faze her. She just climbed right back up. She had tofall down at least five more times before she got the hang of her new cage.
My little critter's name is Airborne. Now you are probably wondering why onearth, I would name my hamster that. Well first, I am a former member of theU.S. Army Airborne Forces. But more importantly is the little stunt sheplayed at the pet store. She was 7 weeks old, black and cute as could be.While I was trying to hold her she decided to do a mad jump from my hands.Well the 3 foot fall, well, shocked her a little to say the least. And justlike your site says can happen in falls, she looked and acted DEAD. I washeartbroken and felt really stupid to top it off. The one pet store workereven thought that she was dead. But thankfully after a little loving handlingby the manager she came out of her state of shock. Luckily she has had no illeffects from this stunt and is the cutest thing in the world.
So the task of naming this creature was solved. No other name, now seemedright. My little hammy was now AIRBORNE. :-)

I have a story about my friend's hamster. Last night i was over at my friend Brint's house. We were playing with one of his babies that liked to jump off of a stuffed tiger in their cage. So i stuck my jacket sleeve in there to see if he would jump on it. When i wasn't watching he had jumped on my sleeve and crawled up it. I didn't realize he was on it and i swung my arm out of the cage. The poor hammy flew off of my jacket and fell six feet onto the ground. We picked him up and put him under a warm lamp. He eventually started to move again, and he acted like he was fine. I was so relieved when he started to run around like normal. We soon stuck him back in his cage and he started to jump off the tiger again. I hope you enjoyed this little miracle.

I have a hamster named munchkin, he is a normal dwark whinter white russianhamster. Every night while doing my homework I let him run around on mydesk. He has a few tubes on my desk as well as a habitrail snack bar and asmall home. All though he likes all of these things he prefers to dive offmy desk on to the floor. Befor it scared me because i have read abouthamsters breaking bones by falling, but munckinin was not even hurt. So I puthim back on my desk, and he would jump off it again. The weird thing is hedosen't slip but he purposely makes himself fall. After bringing him back onmy desk a dozen times I put him in his cage. The next day he did the samething, and he keeps doing it. Now I have a pillow at the bottom so he cankeep having fun without hurting himself.
