She needs your help. At least twice a month A More Excellent Way provides emergency shelter for victims and their families when there is no room at the inn at area shelters. Through a patnership with the YWCA of Greater Memphis and the Memphis Hotel/MotelAssociation we are able to provide victim/survivors with a safe haven for up to three days. However the hotel only provides room, these families have no resources for food. What do we do? We need volunteers (churches/organizations/individuals) to

put together food baskets and
be available to drop off baskets within 24 hours of the call.

Suggested Food Baskets include:

Non perishable food items such as
Packets tuna/chicken salad.
Vienna sausage and other canned meats.
Cereal and powdered milk.
Canned Fruit.
Sodas/drinks.
Paper bowls/cups/napkins.
Some toiletries(toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant).
*Calling cards(for security reasons).

Currently we are averaging approximately 2 baskets/month.
Drop off is at the hotel front desk only, there is no contact with the client.
Baskets are dropped off within 24 hours of clients checking into hotel.

Churches with existing Food Pantries are encouraged to participate.
Individuals can drop off items at A More Excellent Way.

For security purposes food coupons are limited to those restaurants who will make deliveries.
