TELLING LIES
- IN AMERICA -
BRAD played
Karchy Jonas in Telling Lies in America. Telling
Lies was released on October 17, 1997. It co-starred
Kevin Bacon, Maximilian Schell, and Calista Flockhart.
Karchy is a 17-year old Hungarian who comes to America in
the early 1960's and has trouble fitting in with his
private Catholic high school classmates in Cleveland.
During payola times, Karchy idolizes local radio DJ Billy
Magic (Kevin Bacon) and the two form a bond. The
independent film was well-reviewed, but was only seen by
a limited audience. The film was written by acclaimed
screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, in what appears to be a
semi-autobiographical story. Directed by Guy Ferland, Telling
Lies was first seen earlier in October as a selected
film part of the New York Film Festival. Banner Films, 1997, PG-13, 101 mins. |
