The Woman

A small, cold hand takes yours and leads you in the darkness. "Sit, stranger, and listen if you wish."

Sitting down, you can still feel her hand holding yours, as if for comfort, though you arent' sure if it's for your comfort, or for hers.

"You have followed me this far, so I shall tell you what you wish to know. you only need to ask."

In the dark you nod, then feel rather stupid because you know that she can't see the gesture. You clear your throat. "Please, tell me what you can. Then I will ask."

There is a moments silence in which you aren't sure if she has decided not to talk, but then you hear her soft voice.

"I do not know which to tell you first. Shoudl I tell you of how I came to know Erik, or as you are most familiar with him, the Phantom?

Or do I tell you of my life and the people I have loved in my life? Where do I begin?"
