Joseph A. Dykes
Joseph A. Dykes was born February 7, 1833, Hawkins Co., TN, son of Wm. Dykes of Mt. Carmel and Anna Gallimore. He married: 1. Rachel Montieth, April 1, 1856, Greene Co, TN; m.2. Lyda M. Phillips, 18 (or 1?)November 1858, Greene Co, TN; m. 3. Rebecca A. White (Bright), December 22 (or 16?), 1899, Greene Co., TN (her first husband, Michael Bright, died in Greene Co, 1895.
He enlisted in the 4th TN Vol. Infantry at Louisville, KY. Serving from November 12, 1862 - August 2, 1865 (2 yrs. 6 mos. 20 days; Blair's Gap post office - 1890 Census.
His post office addressed was listed as Fall Branch in 1874; in 1912, age 79, was a resident of Baileyton. He died May 11, 1917, near Church Hill, TN.
