So you wanted to know what it is like to be in college huh? Well this is coming from a first year student so many opinions could vary. First I will take you through a walk of a typical day in my shoes...at Sullivan College
You hear the alarm clock going off at 6:30....you finally get up at 7:30 and realize that you are going to be just a few minutes late but who cares you got till 8:05 to be in class. And plus you don't have to catch the Pickle (the school bus....yes our college has a school bus). So that will spare you enough time. So frantically running around you jump into the shower and swear that was the quickest shower you have ever took (of course that changes the next school day). After the shower you get dressed and try to look the best you can but in college looks shouldn't matter right? wrong. Looks still are just as important as in Jr. High and High School. But through all the worry you make it to Information Processing just in time as the teacher calls roll. Whew you made it you think to yourself I won't stay up as late tonight. Then you remember you said that the night before also. In information processing you frantically try to get all the work done and learn Office 97 at the same time. Well finally you give up all hope of catching up today in that class and go to your next class...College Success Skills.
You glance down at your book....How to become a Master Student....and wonder if that is what you are going to turn out to be. A master student. Well you put the thought aside and wonder if you came to the right place because on Tuesday and Wednesday you are supposed to go to the library. You reassure yourself and then the other students come in and you precede with class. After that class you find your way to Math. And wonder why the teacher just wouldn't let you take the final and save him and you both time. So during the class you talk to Jeff (a friend of yours). After Math you are starved so you go to lunch with the rest of your friends in math. You would think that going to a mostly culinary school that at least the lunches would be worth eating. Yeah the lunches are....if they don't scurry away when you go to cut the meat. No in all honesty the lunches are pretty good. After lunch you study and do what homework you didn't do the night before and then get ready to go to English.
In English you laughingly make comments about how long the teacher will hold you in there today....5 maybe 10 minutes at the max. The class usually is...any questions over what you were supposed to read? Then there is a minute or two of silence...then the teacher speaks up again. Good class dismissed. So that is my day at school. The rest of the day is....come home sleep wake up chat online till the wee hours (and remind yourself that you said you was not going to do that again tonight) and then you start your day all over again.
