A fairly common four-legged creature, the eopie is used as a beast of burden. Most riders also consider eopies to be comfortable mounts because of their broad back and short, thick fur. Their low water requirement makes them an excellent choice for long expeditions: an eopie can extract most of its needed moisture from food sources. Also, Eopies are little affected by the very hot temperatures of Tatooine, and they do not tire easily. Experienced riders often tie themselves tightly to their mount's harness, and sleep right on the creature's back while the dependable beast keeps walking from one sand dune to the next, even during the dark desert nights. Eopies produce a highly nutritive milk that is unfortunately hard to preserve, making it generally impossible to export.
