My Work Place

In the Spring of 99, I was an intern, here are the sites that I was at.

Brown Middle

Here I am presenting a lesson. The lesson was on Booker T. Washington... one of my favorite historical heroes. I really like this story because it really capitalizes on a lot of issues: poverty, prejudism, and my favorite, education. Don't get me wrong... I am not saying that EVERYONE must go to school. I know a lot of people that have gone through life great without formal schooling. I think a better word might be knowledge. Knowledge is power. It always has been and I am sure that it always will be. This is really how I press my lessons: "Who wants to be powerless?" No one raises their hands. Being powerless sucks... and one of my missions in life is to spread power. It is what people want... I would like to help people find it.

21st Century

Here I am with some of the kids from the 4th grade. The lesson that I presented there had to deal with courage... in particular, peer- pressure. We talked about how it affects our life at every stage of our life. And yup... they love to sing too!

Potatoes ready!!!

Here I am with some 1st and 2nd graders. We were learning as to how special we are. Potatoes are different... so are we. Although potatoes are different they are similar... so are we. Even though a potatoe looks different you can still use it for what you primary use a potatoe for... FRENCH FRIES! The lesson was to communicate that though you are different... we can still make french fries out of ya!

This is a young lady that I met at a lockin that they had there at 21st Century. We both got our faces painted... well I guess I got my head painted anyway and she her face. Click here for more photos of the lock-in...
