~ This month's topics: Odds and Ends - Discipline, Beginning to Attend Church ~ ~~Hello again!~~ It’s a good thing February was a short month because I didn’t do anything I’d planned and I needed a new month to start over again ;-) I didn’t begin exercising, but I did begin to gain control over my eating in the last week and am now drinking my water and eating more healthy and have managed to lose 3 pounds again (I say "again" because after my birthday, I gained back all I had lost in early January). My husband has continued to indulge me in my "nesting" phase. The poor man! This nesting phase has lasted longer than even I had planned, but getting my home in order and pleasing to my eyes has done wonders for me! Our last step in upgrading the interior is to use some of Jim’s bonus from work for new wallpaper and what we’ve completed so far looks great! My house is becoming more of a "home!" Ok, enough of that! February was not a "simple living" month as far as dealing with my kids. Their behavior towards each other and towards me got out of hand. I had to re-think how to discipline them because what I was doing was not working. I am quick to react to the children when they are behaving badly, usually yelling at them. This is NOT what I wanted to be doing. So I’m adopting a "stern" voice and using time-outs. I just began this so don’t know if it will work, but I hope that with consistency they will learn what I expect of them. If any of you want to share with me your methods of discipline, feel free to email me! I’m always open to suggestions regarding this matter. Our family began attending Sunday school in February and all of us are enjoying our classes. Finding fellowship with others and sharing our faith has brought a peace for my husband that he’s not known since his father’s death 17 years ago and a refuge for me on those bad days. We hope to begin attending church services soon, probably Easter Sunday. There couldn’t be a better day to begin attending church again! It was a very busy month for us, but not much happened, if you know what I mean! We just sorta managed to "get by" with our daily living. I’ve kept up with my Simple Abundance reading and was also able to obtain a copy of Sarah ban Breathnach’s Mrs. Sharp’s Traditions You must go to the kitchen to see what this book has to offer! WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?
