Betrayal
My love I gave freely, to her I thought was true,
Yet that was not enough, and now I am alone.
When with her my love and happiness grew,
Now I have frozen my heart, cold as stone.
All that I had, I would have given freely,
But tis all for naught, for she has left me.
Our time together lasted only briefly,
I now feel caged and far from free.
First I felt rage and pain,
Now I feel nothing at all.
I shall never give myself like that again,
Neither I nor my heart could withstand another fall.
