The Other Side
I have seen the other side
the moment when life ceases to be.
I have witnessed the glimmer of light fade from the eye
the instant that life chose to flee.
I have felt the razors edge
so sharp and so real.
I have stood on the window ledge
yet couldn't step forward knowing how I feel.
And as all this goes on
the truth must be told.
For I was not always so honest
or with my words so bold.
They said I came back from that place
said with this life I should now abide.
For now, the future I shall justly chase
for I have seen the other side.
