The Paradise Pasir Panjang Teachers Training College
The Pasir Panjang Teacher Training College was set in 1958. Initially it was called The Kuala Trengganu Day Training Center and had its temporary campus at the Sultan Sulaiman Primary School. It offered courses in Primary School Teacher Training.
The Ministry of Education provided a permanent site for the college at Jalan Pasir Panjang, about five kilometers from the town center of Kuala Terengganu. It was officially opened on the 8th. November 1969 by Tun Haji Abdul Razak bin Dato' Hussin, then the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
As a result of a surplus of teachers and other problems in the country, a few Day Training Centers were closed down in early 1970 including the Kuala Terengganu Day Training Center. But in 1972 it was reopened for a special program to train teachers in the field of Health Education and Nutrition. To coincide with its new role, the college was given a new name , that is Teacher Training College for Health Education and Nutrition.
In January 1983, the college was renamed Pasir Panjang Teacher Training College and was given its original role of training primary and secondary school teachers. The Health Education program was shifted to Temenggong Ibrahim Teacher Training College at Johor Bahru.
