Mid-South Chapter VHPA Represented in Nashville Veteran's Day Parade, 1998

On a perfect November day, Mid-South Chapter members marched in Nashville's annual Veteran's Day parade. Among hundreds of veterans participating was Tennessee's oldest veteran, Co-Grand Marshall John Painter, a 110-year old WWI Veteran, one of only 29 surviving WWI Tennessee veterans.

Media reports indicated turnout along the parade route was among the highest in recent years. One notable highlight: When a parade viewer, also a Vietnam Vet, yelled to the VHPA marchers, "Thanks for the ride!"
