Liisa Smay and Timo Nummela are going to exchange their wedding vows on Saturday, 18, July 2009. The ceremony will take place in the lighthouse church of the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress and will begin at 12 noon.

After the ceremony, there will be a waterbus waiting on the main dock, next to where the ferry from Kauppatori arrives. This waterbus will take wedding guests to Villa Wuorio, where the celebration will continue over food, wine, cake and dancing (so polish your dancing shoes).

The ferry will leave Suomenlinna at 1 pm exactly and the trip to the Villa will take approximately half an hour.

The wedding celebration will end approximately 9 pm, after which we have arranged for bus transportation back to Kauppatori (Market Place) in the city center.

If you wish to use your own car as transportation, you can take the Market place ferry back from Suomenlinna to return to the city center and then drive to Villa Wuorio. The driving time is approximately 15 minutes (from the city center. Allow more time for the ferry ride).


Ferry (see timetable through this link) which departs from Kauppatori and travels to Suomenlinna. (Please note that there are multiple ferries that can take you to the sea fortress. The ferry with the linked schedule is the public transport ferry which is sponsored by HKL. Tourist ferries are more costly alternative).

Driving directions from Kauppatori market place to Villa Wuorio:

1 Start by driving Pohjoisesplanadi (E12/E75)

2 Continue on past Päävartiontori (E75) 2,4 km

3 Drive towards Itäkeskus signs

4 Turn right and continue using exit ramp towards Itäkeskus (Sörnäisten Rantatie (E75)), continue 210 m

5 Stay left in Itäväylä (170), continue 3,2 km

6 Stay on a right lane, continue 410 m to the Laajasalo exit

7 Turn right off the exit to Linnanrakentajantie, drive approximately 1,2 km

8 Linnanrakentajantie turns into Laajasalontie, continue forward 2,8 km

9 Turn right to Vuorilahdentie (small narrow road) and drive approximately 110 m until you arrive to the Vuorilahti course center parking lot (gray buildings).

On the left, you will see a sign to Villa Wuorio which is by the ocean. Continue through the course center parking lot following the sign, to the parking lot of the Villa.
