The Legend of Selene and Endymion This is the TOTALLY COOLEST part of Sailormoon!!! OK, now listen up! Long ago, Selene, the goddess of the moon, went to earth to walk upon the mortals. There, she fell in love with the shepherd boy, Endymion, yet she knew that he would eventually die because he was mortal. Her sister, Eos, told her not to ask Zeus to grant a mortal eternal life because when she did that, he turned her "boyfriend" into a grasshopper (yet he still lives). So instead, Selene begged Zeus the grant Endymion eternal sleep. That way she could look at his beauty forever. Kinda selfish, no?

Rabbit of The Moon

For all I ever would have guessed, Rabbit in the Moon would only mean something about the way we see the craters, like man in the moon. But my friend Wendy, the owner of The Realm of Mars tells me differently. She says that once upon a time, there was a girl who wanted she and her husband to become immortal. She was given a sacred orb that she was to eat half of and give the other half to her husband to achieve immortality. But, the girl became greedy and ate the whole orb. She did become immortal, but she became so light that she floated up to the moon and now has to make medicine

Sailormercury was born in the zodiac of Virgo, whose ruling planet is Mercury.

Sailormars

Phobos and Deimos, the two moons of mars, are also Rei's ravens. Could there be a link between the Ravens and the poem "The Raven"? I'm gonna have to reread that, thanks a lot! Sailormars was born in the zodiac of Aries, whose ruling planet is Mars.

Sailorjupiter

Zeus, when angry, would throw lightning bolts at those who enraged him. Maybe that's how Jupiter's element became lightning/thunder. Also, Sailorjupiter was born in the zodiac of Sagittarius, whose ruling planet is Jupiter.

Sailorvenus

All of Sailorvenus's attacks are based on love and energy. That's why Minako-chan's last name is Aino, meaning "Love of." Also, Sailorvenus was born in the zodiac of Libra, whose ruling planet is Venus (starting to get predictable, ne?).
