I come originally from Michigan, where I was born and raised and have
lived all my life, until March 1999. I have 3 children, 2 girls ages 29
and 16, and 1 boy age 28. I also have a beautiful granddaughter and 4
wonderful grandson's, one who is 2months now, and living here with my
youngest and I. I finally, after about 3 years, was able to see the other
grandchildren and my 2 oldest. I had escaped pursecution from my estranged
husband by going to Canada for those years, and had to leave all of them
behind with no contact except through my sister on the internet. Now that we
are back in the States, it is wonderful to have them back in my life once more!
I have many interests in life, and as is the case with most things,
not enough hours in a day to do them all. ~ smiles ~ One of my interests
is in creating webpages. I am facinated with all that can be done with a
webpage, and am always learning something new. If you come back to these
pages again, chances are that somewhere there will be a change or two..
depending on what I have learned. When I learn something new, I just
HAVE to use it on something with this site!! LOL
Another interest I have is reading. My favorite author is Stephen
King... but I also read Dean Koontz, Anne Rice, VC Andrews... to name a
few. At the moment, I am reading the series of Gor books by John
Norman... facinating!! The love of reading is something I have tried to
instill in my children as they were growing up. There was not often that
you would come to my home and NOT see one of the children with a book of
some sort in their hands. Reading opens up a whole new world... a place
to escape to for awhile... to learn... to explore.
Another passion of mine is music... any kind of music. I have very
eclectic taste in the genre. About the only kind that I don't care for
is rap or classical, although I do listen to classical on a rare
occaision or two. Through music, I can express my feelings much better
than the written or spoken word. I am not musically talented (although
you can hear me singing along sometimes.. on key I hope.. LOL), so I
admire the talents of all those that are. With their help, I express to
my family and friends how I feel.... something that is not easily done
for me.
As far as other interests, I love to cook and bake, as well as
crotcheting. In the winter I am always baking up something... making the
house smell good as well as treating the family to something special. I
was raised by my Grandparents, and my Grandmother cooked for a living..
with many under her supervision. I learned a lot from her while growing
up and have enjoyed cooking and baking ever since. I tend to NOT use
measurements too much.... maybe the first time I try something new, but
after that.. a pinch of this a dash of that is pretty much how I do
things. I also collect recipes and intend to put them on this site at
some point in the future.. such a big job, but one that I really want to
do. ~ grin ~
If you are still with me this far, then thank you.. I do tend to
rattle on at times, but thought I should kind of tell you something
about me here, as there are so many in the groups I belong to that I
probably will never meet. I enjoy learning something about others when I
go to their sites... makes me feel like I kind of "know" them a little
bit more.
