COMMODORES CUP SPRING 2003
The Commodes Cup had first gun at noon on Saturday with  the best turn out this year.
First gun was scheduled for high noon. With light winds the race courses chosen were to
the east Can B and north Can A . With this combination each race could last about an hour.

As usual the winds were light and shifty with overcast skies.
The first race started with 7 boats, Presto just arriving in time for the start.

We had a storm front through the region the night before which usually leaves us with a high pressure area with light winds. As you can tell from the pics, the clouds were still rolling through  and that allowed us to get in three races before the winds changed direction and it started to rain. The race was called for the day and we all retreated to the club house to feast on Randall's famous barbequed steaks. If you sail or not you owe it to yourself to join us at one of these feasts.

The sailing continued on Sunday with the first gun at 2:30. With a repeat of light air, this race was not far from a drifter. We did a full can race, A, B, C Green which forced us to beat to A, reach across the lake to B and broad reach with a chute to C and beat back to the finish.
When the last boat finished, we headed to the club house to talley the scores.
