Rosmari Pleasure was a 34 year old woman with a love for life, and a desire to make an impact on her world. For 10 years she made a difference as a dedicated editorial assistant with The Commercial Appeal. She left her mark on community and civic organizations including Toastmasters International, the Evergreen Historic District Association, and the Midtown/Downtown Democratic Club. Despite many obstacles and tragedies Rosmari possessed a deep hunger for knowledge and education. Rosmari indeed made a difference. On March 2, 1998 Rosmari Elaine Celeste Pleasure was gunned down by a male acquaintance in the riveway of her Memphis home. A More Excellent Way, Inc. (AWay,Inc.) was born in response to this tragedy and is committed to bringing an end to these violent acts that plague our community.
