Mary
Katherine Rebecca Dirk was born on December 5,1901
in
Argentine, Ks., the daughter of William and Lucy Fisher. She
departed
this life on October 11, 1987 at the St. Francis Hospital in
Mountain
View, MO., at the age of 85 years, 10 monthsand six days.
She
was united in marriage to Clarence "Mike" Edward Denton on March 9, 1926
and
to this union two children were born.
Her
husband, Mike, preceded her in death on December 7, 1958.
She
was also married to Henry Edward Dirk in August of
1963
and he passed away on October 18, 1968.
She
was also preceded in death by her mother and father;
one
son, Virgil Monroe Denton, who died in August of 1973; one
brother
Alfred Fisher; and a sister, Louella Flethcer.
She
was a member of the Church of Christ and
the
Ladies Auxilliary of the VFW in Mountain View.
She
leaves to mourn her passing one daughter and son-in-law,
Lorene
and Henry Gates of Independence, MO.; three
grandchildren,
Paula Rae Mitchell and her husband Ralph "Mitch" Mitchell of El Paso, TX.,
Jeffery Allyn Gates and his wife Rhonda Gates of Independence, MO.
and
Loren Henry Gates of El Paso, TX.; many nieces and nephews, great nieces
and
nephews,
Bobby Ledbetter, who stayed with her for many years
and
a host of friends.
Services
were held October 15, 1987 at Chapel Hill Church in
Montain
View, Mo., with Larry Yarber officiating.
HilerFuneral
Home of Willow Springs, Mo.,
provided
direction for the services and burial.
Pallbearers
were Royce Yarber, Harman Hines, Ted Ledbetter,
Earl
Hunter, Leslie Ledbetter and Bobby Ledbetter.
Honorary
Pallbearers included Jack Yarber, Andy Yarber,
Wesley
Ledbetter, Phillip Horst, Bill Gastineau and Dean Gastineau.
