ME

In the lonely
recesses of the heart
only a thought
remains
Haunting and allusive
demanding to be
alone
and yet
craving attention

I wrote that my senior year in high school. I have been writing since I was 11 years old. I not only write poetry but short stories, essays, and articles as well. I have at various times expressed my creativity through other arts as well - quilting, needlework, pressed and dried flower arrangements, and some photography.

The following is original when I started the site. I'm not as faithful as I used to be but I am still thankful for the experience and what I felt at the time: [I came to Christ in 1996. For years I had railed against God; angry from the abusive situations in which I had grown up, angry from mistakes I had made myself, angry that I didn't know how to fix the pain. In 1996, God worked overtime to let me know that HE had always been there loving me. HE wanted me to know that only HE could truly fix the pain - I need only ask. HE wanted me to see that there was a meaning to my life and that in life I could, indeed, not only survive but thrive. I am more than thankful that HE loved me so much that HE never gave up on me. I more fully discuss my healing and my journey into a life with Christ in a poetry ring (the issues of which you can find at this site).]

Updated: I hope my writings will be a positive force in the lives of others - to entertain, inspire, encourage, strengthen - whatever it needs to do for others to help get them through the day. Lately, I write mainly for my own pleasure.

I hope that you enjoy this site and will share it with others.
Peace, love, and forgiveness.

Leslie
