Night Songs

When Cinderella was ready to start recording their first album, “Night Songs”, they had about 50 songs. They played them all for Andy Johns, their producer, and twelve songs were picked. The album was released in 1986. The goal for the cover was to go for the most striking introduction of the band. Since Fred had just joined, Jody Cortez did the drums for the album. John Bon Jovi also did the background vocals on ‘Nothin’ For Nothin’ and ‘In From The Outside’. Over three million copies were sold worldwide. Almost immediately they left on a fourteen month tour as an opening band for David Lee Roth and Bon Jovi, and also spent a couple of weeks with Poison and Loudness. The Night Songs video came out in 1987. Larry Mazur, future manager of the band, was also involved with making it. The videos for ‘Shake Me’, ‘Nobody’s Fool’, and ‘Somebody Save Me’ as well as live footage from The Spectrum, a studio in Philadelphia where ‘Somebody Save Me’ was shot were on it. Jon Bon Jovi also was featured in the 'Somebody Save Me' video.
