Notes for ROLAND FLOWERS: Roland enlisted in the Revolutionary war in the Spring of 1781 and served three months in the company of Capt. Silas Williams. He later served as a subsititute for his father in Capt. Peter Gearin's Co. and was at the siege of Yorktown. After the war, he lived in Virginia until he was 22 and then he moved to Pickett Co. TN. Roland drew his pension while living in Fentress Co. TN.

Notes for JAMES and ELIZABETH FLOWERS: James Flowers purchased land on Aug. 26, 1836 on the Wolf River in Overton Co. TN from John Chilton for $35.00. He bought another tract of land on same river from John Chilton on Aug. 27, 1836 for $21.00. Earlier James had bought land from his wife Elizabeth's parents heirs John and Henry Graham. At the time of James Flowers death, he owned three-hundred acres on the Wolf River.
Sarah Graham, the mother of Elizabeth (Graham) Flowers is shown in the Overton Co. TN 1830 Census living next door to James and Elizabeth Flowers.

the late Pleas Jasper and Susan Etta
Jane Flowers Zachary. She was a
housewife and a member of the
Pleasant View Baptist Church. Her
husband, George P. Silvers, preceded
her in death.
Survivors include a son, Raymond
Silvers of Waynesburg; a daughter,
Edna Padgett of Waynesburg; four
brothers, the Rev. Jerry Zachary of
Helenwood, Tenn., the Rev. Cornell
Zachary of Albuquerque, N.M., the
Rev. Eldred Zachary of Vancouver,
Wash. and the Rev. Alford Zachary of
Nancy; three sisters, Dora Hutson of
Florida, Lucy Morris of Michigan,

DONALD GIBSON

Donald Gibson, 52, of Oneida
passed away on Wednesday, March
13, 2002.
He was the son of the late Herstle
(Buck) Gibson and Etta Willoughby
Gibson and was also preceded in
death by an infant son.
Survivors include two daugh-
ters, Rhonda Gibson Snider and Mica
Gibson; two sisters, Faye Hileman
and Joan Key; one brother, Daniel
Gibson; four grandchildren; several
aunts, uncles, and other relatives and
friends.
A memorial services was held
on Friday, March 15, at 11 a.m. in
the chapel of West-Murley Funeral
home, with Rev. Geneva Summers
officiating.
WEST-MURLEY FUNERAL
HOME was in charge of the ar-
rangements.
Note: DANNY ROBBINS, a close friend of Donny, spoke at the funeral. He played the guitar and sang two songs.
