  • Things that he likes to do besides racing: Go out with friends and work on cars
  • Future Plans: Running full-time ARCA in 2002. Hopes then just to get a ride in either Trucks or Busch
  • Goals for the year: Rookie of the Year in ARCA
  • Opinion on the old speedway closing soon and everything moving to the Superspeedway: it’s definitely going to happen, but they ought to keep the old track. Thinks attendance will probably be down due to the fact that it is a ways from Nashville.
  • What are some of his responsibilities at the shop? Everything in the driver compartment, pretty much a little bit of everything, odds and ins…
  • What types of image do you portrayal to your fans on and off the track? On the track, he is a clean driver, doesn’t intend spin someone out. Off the track he likes to go up into the stands and sign as many autographs for fans, he is very friendly.
  • Who have you patterned yourself most like: Mark Martin, both on and off the track.
  • Most Memorable race/racing achievement: 1st Go-Cart win, 6th place finish in a Late Model race (2000), and 1st pole at Nashville. He is one of the youngest, if not youngest pole sitter (16 years 9 months and 17 days) 1st ARCA pole Daytona 2002
  • Advice to young drivers starting out: It’s not the same game when you are testing as it is when you are out there with 40 other cars, Don’t overdrive the car, Keep it cool, and Keep your eyes open/Be Patient
  • What kind of streetcar do you drive: 00’ Black Trans Am and 96’ Dodge Ram
  • Being a race car driver, how many speeding tickets have you gotten from driving too fast in your streetcar? Way too many
  • Is it hard to go slower in your streetcar? In the beginning it was, but now I have learned to slow down some.
  • What other race drivers do you hang out with at the track? Willie Allen( ST driver), Bryant Martocci, Steadman Marlin, Josh Weston (sometimes), and Robert Ray Baucom
  • How did you get involved with your sponsors: It was their charity of choice after his brother had cancer. They had Candlelight meeting at the Ronald McDonald House.
