  • Things that he likes to do besides racing: Hangin’ with friends
  • Future Plans: ARCA or BGN, depending on where the ride becomes available
  • Goals for the year: Run his best, running consistently and winning ROY
  • Opinion on the old speedway changing: It has been great, there is a lot of great competition, there is a more even playing field, the track looks better, and the management takes care of the drivers and tries to be very fair.
  • What are some of his responsibilities at the shop? Everything and Anything
  • What types of image do you portrayal to your fans on and off the track? He tries to be a down to earth kind of guy and have a good Christian attitude
  • Who have you patterned yourself most like: a mix between Mark Martin and Dale Earnhardt
  • Most Memorable race/racing achievement: Winning the Late Model Championship at Highland Rim
  • Advice to young drivers starting out: Start off at a short “bull ring” track, maybe something like a Legends; Be Patient; Don’t let people tell you can’t achieve your dreams
  • What kind of streetcar do you drive: a Dodge Dakota
  • Being a race car driver, how many speeding tickets have you gotten from driving too fast in your streetcar? Believe it or not; 0
  • Is it hard to go slower in your streetcar? No, because I can separate racing and driving on the road. Plus driving on the road is no comparison to driving on the track so there is no need to speed.
  • How did you get involved with your sponsors: Hilldale Baptist Student Ministry is the church that clay attends, and they are very supportive of Clay; VIPhotography- years of being around Danny Smith and Beech Oil Company- because the trucking company switched to their oil. …
