Everyone at Happy Dog Farm wants to thank all of you who responded to the recent article about our farm.
Your support and encouragement helps us remember we are not alone in the fight to bring animal suffering to an end in Monroe County.
We were able to place 14 animals in five foster homes and arranged four adoptions. Our most challenging call came from Jarrod Brackett, animal control officer. he faxed us a list of precious animals scheduled for euthanasia.
We were able to place the puppies, but still need foster homes for feral cats. I understand the cats are beautiful ~ does anyone need a barn cat? Call Officer Brackett at 442-2268.
Kathy and I feel we must work with the city shelter to place these animals. We are willing to get their shots, have them spayed/neutered, advertise them and take them to adopt-a-thons, but we need foster homes. Are any of you willing to be a foster home for perhaps amonth at a time, while we get these babies their operations, shots, etc?
We need people willing to go to the city shelter in Madisonville, get the animals, clean them up and get them to the doctor for us, and possibly transport to an adopt-a-thon.
It's a fun and rewarding job. If you want to talk to a foster mom to find out how she feels about what she's doing, just call and I'll give you some numbers.
Our next adopt-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday, March 31 and Sunday April 1 at the Petsmart on Kinggston Pike in Knoxville.
We will have lots of adorable puppies, beautiful young chos (both black and brown), a sweet boxer mix, two golden lab mixes, black lab pups and some absolutely spoiled rotten plot mixes. Hope to see you there, and we still need volunteers to transport.
We still need donations for our yard sale ~ please call Renee at 442-6759. The sale is scheduled for April 6 and 7 at 3837 New Highway 68.
For information on volunteering or adopting a dog call Diane at 423-420-0288.
Zach
This dog's name is Zach. He is one of the babies rescued from the city shelter. The foster mom must have been a little rushed, because when we examined him for his operation, we discovered he was a Zacherina. Her temperament is sweet with other dogs and children. She is smart and playful, rides well in the car, and is well on her way to being crate trained. She's approximately six months old, has been spayed, first shot, rabies shot, and is available for an adoption fee of $50.00. Please call foster mm Rosalind at 337-4281 to adopt this baby.
