Words to Live By
Sooner or later, a man or woman, if he/she is wise, discovers that life is a mixture of good days
and bad, of victory and defeat, give and take. He learns that it doesn't pay to be a "too" sensitive
soul"; that he should let some things go over his head like water off a duck's back. He learns that
he who loses his temper usually loses out - - that all men/women have burnt toast for breakfast
every now and then, that he shouldn't take another person's "grouch" too seriously. He learns that
carrying a chip on one's shoulder is the easiest way to get into trouble, that the quickest way to
become unpopular is to carry tales of gossip about others, that "passing the buck" always turns out
to be a boomerang, that it doesn't matter who gets the credit so long as the job gets done. He learns
that everyone else is as ambitious as he is, that they have brains as good or better, that hard work,
not cleverness alone, is the secret to success. He learns that no man or woman ever gets to first base
alone and that it is only through cooperative effort that we move on to better things.
Golden Rules for Easier Living
1. If you open it, close it.
2. If you turn it on, turn it off.
3. If you unlock it, lock it back.
4. If you break it, admit it.
5. If you can't fix it, call in someone who can.
6 . If you borrow it, return it.
7. If you value it, take care of it.
8. If you make a mess, clean it up.
9. If you move it, put it back.
10. If it belongs to someone else, ask to use it.

~ Emerson
