Misuse of Power by Rev. V.V. McCoy, President World Vision Enterprise |
|
|
|
Foreword |
I met Rev. V.V. McCoy during a visit to the Madison County Jail. He was warm and friendly and eager to tell me about the Christ he served. It very quickly became apparent to me that Rev. McCoy was a man after God's own heart. His love for God and knowledge of God's Word saturated every fiber of his being. Whether you believe with his interpretation of scripture, you soon are made aware that he loves the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind and serves with all that is within him. I commend this little book to you because it is written by a man of God who has spent his life living out the faith he strives to evoke in others. Rev. McCoy is a man who practices what he preaches. When I think of him, I am reminded of the poem: |

I'd Rather See A Sermon
I'd rather see a sermon, Than hear one any day. I'd rather one would walk with me Than merely show the way. The eye is a better pupil And more willing than the ear. Fine counsel is confusing, But example's always clear. And the best of all the preachers Are the men who live their creeds; For to see the good in action Is what everybody needs. I can soon learn how to do it If you let me see it done. I can watch your hand in action, But your tongue too fast may run. And the lectures you deliver May be very wise and true-- But I'd rather get my lesson By observing what you do. For I may misunderstand you And the high advice you give; But there's no misunderstanding Of how you act and how you live. |

Foreword |
Misuse of Power is a refreshing look at the Great Commission and power that Jesus has given to man. This is a book you cannot put down and it can be read in one sitting. Misuse of Power is simple but very complex; it needs to be read several times to get the full meaning. Rev. V.V. McCoy has compiled the scriptures and added just enough [commentary] to connect them. I recommend this book to the young Christian as well as the more mature; it's challenging to all.

Foreword |
I recently read the materials of Rev. V.V. McCoy's new book entitled, Misuse of Power. Having read his first book, To God Be All The Glory and most of his other publications which total an estimated one million copies, I offer the following opinions about this new one. Rev. McCoy told me personally, "God told me to write this new book," and "write it with haste." This he has done and at this date, May 26, 1998, it is ready to be published. This book is well written, concise, straight-forward and to the point. It is full of well-chosen scriptures about which the author makes wise and brief remarks. It is well worth the time any interested person will spend reading it, well worth reading it over again and studying it seriously. I sincerely recommend it to you.
