Subject: TRICARE

Greetings:

Still finding an occasional dependent that is not enrolled in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). This is accomplished when you get your ID card, if you have this situation and need help with it please let me know.

Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP) this is a free TRICARE benefit that you have for 180 days following this tour of active duty. Once your soldier is Released from Active Duty (REFRAD) he and dependents revert to TRICARE Standard at this point you must be issued new ID Cards, these will be over stamped TA-180. To have TRICARE Prime during these 180 days you must apply for it even if you have it now this also applies to your soldier, you will have 30 days to accomplish this following REFRAD.

ID Card Locations: National Guard Armory, Holtzclaw Avenue, Chattanooga, TN Phone 423-634-3883, National Guard Armory, Hwy 30, Athens, TN Phone (Toll Free) 1-866-389-8452, National Guard Armory, Sutherland Avenue, Knoxville, TN Phone 865-582-3251 and McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Phone 865-985-3254. None of these folks require appointments but it is recommended that you call ahead for hours of operation, etc. I am aware of other DEERS/RAPIDS location in the area it just seems these work best for our people. There has not been any word on Mobile Teams at this time should this change I will let you know.

TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS). This is a new premium based TRICARE health plan. This plan provides a year of coverage for each 90 days that your soldier serves on Active Duty if he continues in the Guard after this tour of Active Duty. Monthly premiums for calendar year 2005 are $75.00 TRS member-only coverage $233.00 for TRS member and family coverage. No way can I tell you all about this plan in this e-mail, log on to Tricare Reserve Select and get the answers to all your questions.
