The Boaters Inn is a pub for all seasons. Its peaceful riverside setting within Canbury Gardens, makes it a perfect place to relax. In the summer you can watch the water world float by from the terrace, as the sun sets on another summers evening. In the winter, you can sit back and relax by the open fire and take in the friendly ambiance.
The pub is reasonably large, with a spacious bar and a large separate restaurant area. (mooring is also available). Its decor and memorabilia, mainly set on local areas including the river, reflecting its proximity to old father Thames add to the pubs warm interior and friendly local pub atmosphere.
In the Winter the pub is mainly used by the 25+ age group, although it is ideal for families and all ages for dinning.
Since its conversion to a pub in 1985, when it was extended to its current size, it has been visited by many celebrities, including comedians Norman Wisdom and Michael Barrymore. The film Three Men in a Boat was also filmed nearby.
