Samantha Cooper, 98, of Corning, Ark., died Friday, May 14, 2004, at Clay Health Care in Corning, Ark. Mrs. Cooper was born July 22, 1905, at Puxico. She was a member of the House of Prayer Church in Corning. She was a homemaker.

She married Cecil Cooper on July 3, 1926, in Corning. He preceded her in death May 25, 1984.

Survivors include two sons, Jerold Cooper of Piggott, Ark., and Dale Cooper of Poplar Bluff; five daughters, Naomi Housdan, Ruth Cavitt, Alice Ferguson, Anna Pritchard and Mary Hoover, all of Corning; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Carmon McMasters and the Rev. Jimmy McMasters will officiate. Burial will be in the Cantwell Cemetery in Corning.
