Icey Ella Hart was born to Milo Jerome Hart & Lucy Cassanda Graves on January 1, 1889 in White County IL. She was married to Alsey Victor Langford.

They became the parents of 5 Children - Blanche Muriel (Smith), Darrell Edwin, Doris Eloise, Norman and Iris Gale (Engstrom).

Icey died on the 30th of January 1969 in the place where she was born - White Co IL.

White County native Murriel Langford Smith, 89, of Maywood, died Oct. 4, 1999 at the Baptist Retirement Home. Funeral services were held at the South Church of Mount Prospect where she was a member for over 60 years. The Rev. Jack Skiles officated, with burial in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.

She was born April 24, 1910 in the Brownsville area, the daughter of the late Victor and Icey (Hart) Langford, & the granddaughter of the late Milo Jerome & Lucy Cassandra (Graves) Hart, and grew up in and around Carmi. She married Russell Smith, and he preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Gem City business College in Quincy. She was a homemaker and active in church as a member of the boards and committees, Sunday School teacher and volunteer.

Surviving are four daughters, Elizabeth A. Langford of San Antonio, Texas; Sue E. Courington of Tullahoma, Tenn., Melissa M. Mercer of Hallowell, Maine and Laurel L. Nicol of Ridgeley, W.VA.; five grandchildren, Melissa Berg of Edwards Aair Force Base in California, Heather Wolf of Gilbert, Ariz., Megan Mercer of Farmingdale, Maine, Soctt Nicol of San Antonio and Deborah Nicol of Edmonton, Alberta Canada; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrel Langford of Carmi and Norman Langford of Norris City; and a sister, Iris Sielaff of Des Plaines.
