Frances M. Leona Gossage was born 14 December 1846 in Bedford County TN, the daughter of George Washington & Nancy Elizabeth (Hart) Gossage and the grandaughter of Henry & Nancy (Rainey) Hart. Sometime around 1835-36 the family moved from Bedford County, and settled in Pope County IL.
Frances married Isaac McDonald Robertson on 15 December 1861 in Pope Co IL. Isaac was the son of Willis & Charlotte (Reynolds) Robertson. They became the parents of 7 children; Thomas Washington Robertson, 22 July 1866; Charles Curtis Robertson, 1 January 1868; Uterpe Florence Robertson, 18 December 1870; Isaac Newton Robertson, 5 October 1872; Nancy Robertson, 14 September 1874; Estella Ellen Robertson, 17 March 1878 and Richard Alexander Robertson, 4 February 1880.
Francis passed on at the age of 41 years, on 27 November 1887 in Johnson Co IL.
