All you need to hatch eggs!

1.)Put the thermometer in the hovabator and pre-heat it to your desired temp. 80-84 F females -or- 86-88 F Male 85 for mixed.

2.)Get your deli cup ready by poking small pinholes in the lid. Put about 1/4 in. water and 1 in of paralite in the bottom and let the paralite soak the water up.

3.)Make a small dent in the paralite and try to put the egg in there at the same angle that the egg is at when it was laid.

4.)Put your deli cup in the hovabator with the lid on and check on it about every other day. Make sure that your eggs don't start growing mold (is common in too much moisture).

How do you know if the egg(s) are fertile?

The fertile eggs will be nice and white. Unfertile ones will turn gray or yellow and start collapsing almost 30 min after being laid.

What if the egg is growing mold?

You should make a solution of 90% water and 10% bleach. You can either dip the egg in the solution for one quick second only, or I recommend using a qtip dipped in the solution and gently rubbing the area.

How long is the Female Leo's gestation period?

The female takes between 2-4 weeks to lay the eggs be watching for them because males think the eggs are a tasty treat. Its different for all females so I won't be able to give an exact length of time.

How long is the usual incubation period?

The incubation period varies because of the temp. that you keep them at. It is estimated that if incubated at 85F that it will take anywhere from 42 to 65 days. But, each individual egg takes its own time.
