Day TWO...
Monday, August 5th, 2002
This was a very hot and humid day in Nashville. When we walked out of our hotel room and looked at Downtown Nashville, you could barely see the city due to the thickness of the air.

After we left the Knights Inn we drove around the expressway loops of Metro-Nashville, waiting for 10 a.m. that’s when we had an appointment at Clear Channel Radio-Nashville.

After Clear Channel-Nashville, we headed into downtown. When we got to I-40/65 we stopped at Jim Reed Chevy and took some pictures of downtown.

When we got into downtown, we passed the Gaylord Entertainment Center and found the Ryman Auditorium. Here we stopped for a while.

We decided to tour the Ryman Auditorium. This is the former home of the Grand Ole Opry. Here we decided to tour this historical building.

After we left the Ryman, we decided to make our way across town to find the new Opry. I mean how can you see one and not the other... Along the way we found several sites.

Then new opry is on the eastside of town off the Briley Parkway. So we took I-40 out to Tennessee State Route 155 "Briley Parkway" and went to the Grand Ole Opry at Opry Mills (A huge shopping mall...).

Next, we looped back around Nashville on the Briley Parkway and then made our way to I-24 and headed to Murfreesboro. At Murfreesboro we to U.S. Rt. 231 to Tennessee State Route 96 to the eastside of Murfreesboro. Here we found Tennessee Secondary State Route 266. This route was a very scenic way north across Tennessee. We took this to Lebanon, where we re-joined with U.S. Rt. 231 and made out way north.

In Kentucky, we to U.S. Rt. 31E north trough most of the state. We passed through places like Scottsville, the Barren River Lake S.R.P., Glasgow, and the Central & Eastern Time Zone.

As we approached Hodgenville, skies started to turn dark, National Weather Service Radio had tones alerting of a severe thunderstorm in the area. So we decided to watch the storm and grab a bite for dinner at a Hardee's.

After dinner we continued on U.S. Rt. 31E through the vast countryside to Bardstown. Here we picked up KY245 and went east. Along KY245, we passed Jim Beam. When we reached I-65 we headed north into Louisville. At Louisville, we drove around and tour the city from the truck. In exploring we found there was nothing special to this city. So we headed in to Indiana...
State 4...Indiana...
As the night was growing late, we headed west out of Louisville on I-64 to Indiana State Route 37 and started to make out way north through the Hoosier National Forest. When we reached Bedford, we concluded Day 2 at a placed called Stonehendge. Between Stonehenge and Knights Inn off I-24 in Nashville...it was like night/and your worst dreams...
