Installing the Kenwoods was not a simple switch job.
First I had to make room for the larger 6x9 speakers, by cutting some of the metal away. Originally
there was only a 4" speaker in there.
Next I drew and cut a pattern for the speaker frame on paper. Then I had a local hardware shop cut the pattern
into plywood. I put the spongy stuff around the side so that it would fit better against the body.
This is what it looks like bolted in. I used the original holes that were used to hold the plastic panel
in to bolt in the wooden frame.
Finally I used cardboard and aluminum tape to cover up the big hole.
Right now I'm still looking for something that a can use as a nice cover for all the metal, but at least I have some decent
sounds to listen to while driving around. Oh yeah, and also I have a Kenwood deck, Kenwood 1077 fromt speakers, and Mavrick amp to back
up the 6x9s.
