Monkey River Early Morning

The river is lined with vegatation of many kinds, with tarpon swirling on the surface as you round the river bends. Southern Belize is a true tropical rain forest, low lying and wet, with a dense cover of palms, ferns, lianas, and tropical cedar.

MonkeyRiver House

This is where we stayed for 2 nights with our host Martha and Sam. Expats from the states they helped us out in many ways. A special "thank you, Martha" for making our stay a special one. This area is remote, but if laid back is what you want, you got it.

Ian our Guide- He worked hard to hook us up.

Ian was great, we had to tell him we had enough and the day was over, he loves to fish. A very mellow patient person who watched our stooge routine with bewildered amusement, he was great at ducking hooks too.
