6.0 Impulse Propulsion Systems
The principle sublight propulsion of the ship is handled by the impulse propulsion system (IPS). During normal operations the main impulse engines are the active devices, providing the necessary thrust for sublight travel in space. High impulse operations, specifically those above .8c, may require help from the impulse engines from the other sections. These operations, while acceptable operations during some times, are usually avoided due to relativity problems, and the headaches they cause.
